We Got This, If We Choose It

9,425 miles
I've been thinking lately about all the choices we have in our daily life, like what to have for breakfast, or whether to go to aerobics today. I concluded that the most important choice is your attitude.  When things don’t go your way, you can CHOOSE to be angry… or accepting. Bill and I took a road trip across United States & Canada in 2010. It was 9,425 miles with my husband in a little hybrid car, camping in a tent with sleeping bags. I must admit I was a little apprehensive about it, as this would be the most time I had ever spent with my husband in the 30 years we had been together. What I found was that things are much easier when you work as a team. Near the end of our trip, as we were breaking camp, an elderly gentleman came up to us, and said, “I just have to tell you, I've been watching you, and you two work together great as a team.” After 7 weeks together on the road, I’d say we got a pretty good report card. I regularly see a great team spirit around me, and marvel at what we can accomplish working together. Maybe we should look for what we can do to be better team members. Our very own Congress has demonstrated what happens when we don't work together. They are so bitter and mean. As for us??? We're still married, planning our next big trip!
